Fusilli with Rapini and Hot Italian Sausage

This is one of my favourite pasta recipes, hands down.  I love this for it's simplicity  using a mere 5 ingredients (without the cheese).  A quick prep from start to finish, 20 minutes should get it to your table - perfect for an after work dinner.

Rapini is an acquired taste.  If you don't like it, please keep trying it.  On one occasion, I guarantee, you will certainly have a gustatory epiphany and shout, "Is this stuff ever good"!

Use whatever short pasta you have on hand.  Guaranteed deliciousness no matter what the shape!

This will serve 4 regular human beings or 2 piggy appetites (us) with some left over for lunch.

Here's what you'll need:
1 pound Italian sausage (hot or mild - your choice)
                    1 bunch rapini, trimmed
                    3 large garlic cloves, sliced
1/2 C extra virgin olive oil, divided
3 C dry short pasta, like fusilli, penne, orecchiette
                    Parmesan cheese, if desired

Watch the how to video!
